School where student stabbed multiple times had no School Resource Officer

A 14-year-old female student was stabbed repeatedly within minutes of the beginning of a school assembly yesterday at Luther High School in Luther, Oklahoma.

The school does not employ a school resource officer.

As we have seen many times in the past, it was up to a teacher to subdue the perpetrator, a 14-year-old male student, who was subsequently arrested.

Teachers are employed to teach not act as law enforcement or SWAT and yet this is the role they have played from Columbine through the May 25, 2018 attack at Noblesville West Middle School to yesterday's event in Oklahoma.

Following the incident, several parents picked up their children from school and took them home.
