OSHA's position on workplace violence and its prevention

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) advises that 2,000,000 workers are victimized by workplace violence each and every year. This is roughly equivalent to the population of the state of New Mexico.

As frightening of a statistic this figure is, it is likely that number is higher because as we have discussed on this blog, many cases of workplace violence go unreported.

OSHA has published a Fact Sheet on workplace violence and its prevention.

Amongst other matters, this Fact Sheet advises how to report occupational violence to OSHA, an agency of the United States Department of Labor.
