Triple attempted murder/suicide by active shooter at YouTube

In a rare instance of a solo female shooter, three people were wounded yesterday at You Tube's headquarters in San Bruno, California in our country's latest active shooter episode.

The shooter who died at the scene of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound has been identified as Nasim Aghdam, 39, of San Diego according to law enforcement officials.

Sources indicate that the motive for the shooting may have been a grudge Aghdam had against YouTube for alleged censorship of the videos she posted on the platform's channel.

According to to the L.A. Times, an account which may have been Aghdam's was "terminated due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations."

There are conflicting reports as to whether Aghdam knew her victims or if the shootings were random.

In my research for my book into workplace violence "The Killer in the Next Cubicle" I identified only two situations involving female active shooters who worked together with a male counterpart.

I was unable to uncover any situation of a female active shooter acting alone as was the apparent case at YouTube yesterday.

It appears that active shooter incidents at businesses continues to be a disconcerting trend, where according to the FBI approximately 46% of all active shooter incidents occur.
