Negligent Supervision Workplace Violence Claim Survives Summary Judgment

A federal civil lawsuit for Negligent Supervision filed by the families of seven victims and two surveyors has survived a defense motion for summary judgment and is headed to trial.

The lawsuit alleges defendants HP Enterprise Services and the Experts failed to properly supervise Aaron Alexis a civilian contractor/computer technician who went on a rampage and killed 12 people and injured eight others at the Washington Navy Yard on September 16, 2013.

"We have brought the claims against HP and The Experts, because what became clear after this awful tragedy was that this was something that was both predictable and preventable," says Plaintiffs' counsel David Schloss

The Navy Yard tragedy is part of my research entitled "The Killer in the Next Cubicle" which profiles the murders of 83 American workers from 2012-2017.

My research reveals like many of the murderers/alleged murderers including Alexis there were numerous warning signs that were either missed or ignored.
