Three dead, four wounded including three police officers in Texas mass shooting

According to the National Institute for Safety and Health an agency of the Centers for Disease Control, employment in the criminal justice system and contact with the public are two risk factors increasing the chances of workplace violence.


A shooting rampage last night in Texas has left three people dead and four wounded. Three of the wounded were police officers. After getting into a shoot-out with police, the perpetrator took his own life. It has been reported he committed his attacks with a military-style rifle and a handgun.



Police were alerted to reports of gunfire at approximately 6:45 p.m. on July 2, 2022 in a residential area in Halton City, which is located near Fort Worth. .


The three officers and surviving civilian were treated at an area hospital for their wounds and have since been discharged.
