Workplace violence in the digital COVID-19 workplace
Over the course of the past few months, many employees have been working "remotely" or have been working a combination of off site and then off site.
Given the numerous stressors that many American workers have been subjected to in both their personal and professional lives of late, some may either lash out at co-workers or be victims of abuse from colleagues.
Employers, therefore, should not ease off on their workplace violence prevention programs to include the addressing cyber harassment and bullying of their digital workforce.
To mitigate the risk of employee complaints of cyber abuse, employers should communicate their expectations of behavior in advance and also disseminate where those who have been subjected to abuse should direct their concerns to.
