Unemployment at highest rate since the Great Depression
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate has hit the highest level since the Great Depression. However, unlike the Great Depression when it took YEARS to hit the high unemployment mark, the current astounding unemployment rate of 14.9% occurred within a matter of weeks.
In the interim, countless Americans await unemployment compensation payments from state systems that were completely unprepared for the unprecedented scenario that has arisen due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
