See Something/Say Something Averts Possible Tragedy in Aurora, Colorado

A student who "said something" after he "saw something" - another student with a loaded gun helped prevent possible tragedy at Hinkley High School in Aurora, Colorado.

Following the student's complaint to school staff, a 15-year-old was found in a classroom with a loaded gun in his waistband. The student has been arrested and charged with several crimes.

Aurora is the same town where a gunman perpetrated a mass shooting inside the Century Aurora 16 Multiplex Theater in 2012.

Additionally, there have been several past school shootings in the vicinity of Hinkley High School. One was the notorious 1999 massacre at nearby Columbine High School, a school which was put on lockout twice within the past year due to concerns of possible violence.
