1st American Supervisor Charged with Bullying a Worker to Death to Stand Trial for Aggravated Stalki

In a case that broke open the national and international conversation on workplace bullying, a supervisor charged in January 2017 with involuntary manslaughter for bullying an employee, Kenneth Louis Suttner 17, to death will stand trial commencing July 29, 2019 for aggravated stalking, a felony, as well as assault and harassment in Howard County, Missouri.

This case set a precedent as it was the first time an American supervisor was charged with involuntary manslaughter associated with the suicide/self murder of a subordinate arising from bullying.

In 2018, involuntary manslaughter charges were dropped against the defendant. However an initiative to change the language of Missouri's involuntary manslaughter statute SB791 aka "Kenny's Law" has been introduced in the Missouri senate. Mrs. Angela Suttner, aka "Kenny's mom" supports this legislation.

Mrs. Suttner (R - below) has become an activist in her son's memory to help stop workplace and school-based bullying. Also pictured below is Kenny's aunt Mrs. Rebecca Suttner-Bailey (L) and Florida Senator Victor M. Torres, Jr.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has identified a connection between bullying and the suicide of young people.
