WVPI event: School Violence from Columbine to Noblesville

The WVPI's next event focused on violence prevention in our schools. It is called School Violence: From Columbine to Noblesville. By invitation only.

The WVPI will be presenting its proposed recommendations for prevention based on its research on this on-going national tragedy.

The modern active school shooter episode was ushered in on April 20, 1999 when a teacher, Mr. Dave Sanders, was viciously murdered at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado along with 11 students. Several other faculty members and students were wounded. The 17 and 18 year old perpetrators, both seniors, committed suicide at the scene.

Since Columbine far too many teachers, faculty members and students have been killed or wounded in other attacks on our nation's schools up to and including at Noblesville West Middle School in Noblesville, Indiana.

On May 25, 2018, a Noblesville Middle teacher, Jason Seaman along with a female student , were wounded and a 13-year-old male student has been charged with the crimes.
