Alabama nursing manager shot dead by disgruntled employee

Nancy Swift, 63, was shot to death at the UAB Highlands Hospital yesterday. Swift was reprimanding a man who was employed as a central sterile supply worker when he pulled out a gun and killed her.

Also shot was supervisor Tim Isley, 28, the son of Springville, Alabama Mayor Butch Isley.

Coleman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at the scene.

According to Swift's Linked in profile, she has held the title of Nurse Manager at UAB Hospital since September 2008.

Swift is the 10th American and fourth woman to have been shot dead in the workplace so far this year.
