Nine Americans killed in active duty in the workplace in 2018

Nine Americans were killed in action at work resulting from workplace violence during the first 68 days of 2018. By comparison 1 member of our armed forces was killed during this time.

The Americans murdered at work so far this year are:

Thomas Badke, 61, Owner.

Shot to death by an employee.

Keith Kitchen, 60, Supervisor.

BSD Linehaul Inc., Michigan, 2/1/18.

Shot to death by an employee.

Scott Beigel, 35, Geography Teacher.

Douglas High School, Florida, 2/14/18.

Shot to death by a former student.

Chris Hixon, 49, Athletic Director.

Douglas High School, Florida, 2/14/18.

Shot to death by a former student.

(Mr. Hixon survived a tour of duty in Iraq in 2007 only to be cut down in the school where he worked).

Aaron Feis, 37, Assistant Football Coach.

Douglas High School, Florida, 2/14/18.

Shot to death by a former student.

Donald J. Vanhorne, III, 53, Owner.

BTU Comfort Solutions, Ohio.

Shot to death by an employee, 2/23/18.

Jennifer Gonzales, 29, Clinical Psychologist

The Pathway House, California, 3/9/18.

Shot to death by a former patient.

She was seven months pregnant at the time of her death.

Jennifer Golick, 42, Clinical Director.

Workplace violence is a growing epidemic in the United States.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration advises that at least 2,000,000 Americans are victims of workplace violence ranging from harassment to homicide each year with "many more" cases going unreported.
