Two of the eight deadliest mass shootings in modern American history occurred in Florida. Both happened within the last 20 months: at Pulse Nightclub on June 12, 2016 in Orlando and two days ago at the Douglas High School in Parkland. (Source: The Trace)

According to the F.B.I., 70% of all active shooter episodes occur in two places: Businesses and schools.

At the upcoming symposium, the WVPI will offer proactive strategies to help mitigate the growing risk of violence in our workplaces and schools - which are workplaces for teachers and staff.

Three teachers/staff members and 14 students were slaughtered in the latest growing tragedy of rage shootings by students/former students in Parkland on February 14, 2018.
