Vegas Mogul Steve Wynn Resigns Following Sexual Harassment Allegations
Las Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn has resigned from his position as Chief Executive Officer of Wynn Resorts, an enterprise he founded and that bears his name, following widespread allegations of sexual harassment.
It has been reported that dozens of employees and others recently stepped forward to accuse the billionaire Wynn of "sexualizing" the workplace and of pressuring them to perform sexual acts which Wynn has denied.
Wynn will be replaced by Matt Maddox who has served as president of Wynn Resorts since 2013.
Sexual harassment has been deemed by the United States Supreme Court to be an unlawful employment practice in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 since the high court's 9-0 landmark ruling in the Meritor Savings Bank v. Vinson, 477 U.S. 57 (1986) case.
